Feedthroughs

Feedthrough

This feedthrough features a 1" deep cavity to allow clearance for water, gas and power fittings in the device it is being attached to. The swing clamp is made of 304 CRES to avoid oxide layer formation that occurs on aluminum parts and causing arcing in magnetron sputtering systems. The threaded stud is coated with our proprietary, long-life UHV compatible coating that prevents galling and seizure when the nut is tightened.

1 Inch_3-4 Inch Compression Feedthrough

This feedthrough features a clear ID through the entire assembly. There are no internal restrictions caused by the o-ring retension ring or other parts of the feedthrough body common to the other feedthroughs that are commercially available. Those are used for installing vacuum gauge tubes and sensors that don't require full internal clearance.

Baseplate Adaptors

Baseplate_Adaptor

Do you have an old Balzers system or other brand that used 32,5mm diameter holes in the baseplate instead of the more common 1" baseplate feedthrough holes? Here's what you need to install Polaris™ sources and other devices. It's made of 304 CRES instead of aluminum to ensure the sealing surfaces don't become gouged and scratched.

KF Swing Clamps

304 CRES construction - The threaded stud is coated with our proprietary, long-life UHV compatible coating that prevents galling and seizure when the nut is tightened. It's so effective that you can finger-tighten the nut to fully compressed without using a wrench.

Insulators

While we have largely eliminated the use of these insulators in our sputtering sources, they can be very useful if you need to stand off an electrically biased stage or otherwise isolate a part at high voltage. A simple and cost-effective solution. The screw insulators are made of glass-filled teflon to provide mechanical strength. The end caps thread into the screw insulator and have a vent hole to prevent high pressure within the insulator assembly that could potentially lead to glow discharges
